Manuscript and typescript correspondence and notes on the Carter and allied families. Correspondence (1824-1914 and undated) includes a transcription of a letter (25 September 1824) from William C. Carter containing much genealogical data. There is also an original letter (24 April 1847) from Franklin Hubbard Carter concerning his immediate family. Horace Hovey was a descendant of Thomas Carter of Salisbury, Mass.
